We like to say that the following events give their attendees the “Red Carpet Treatment”.  The Red Carpet Treatment simply means that the following organizations, companies, and events sites have made a decision to provide equal access to all events, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, via nationally certified American Sign Language interpreters.  Instead of closing the door to the Deaf, they have opened their arms.  KUDOS to the following accessible events that care enough to use the very best:

 

MooFEST – Athens, TN 2012

 

Visual Communication Interpreting is thrilled to be the requested service provider for the National MooFEST 2012 taking place in Athens, Tennessee on Saturday, May 19.  VCI will host a booth at MooFEST but way more fun than that is the concert by famed Christian singer and songwriter, Steven Curtis Chapman.  Concert seating is reserved and recommended.  Tickets are available immediately.  Interpreters paid for by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and provided by Visual Communication Interpreting team: Ruann Wood and Lydia Harmon.

Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition – Knoxville 2012

Michael Arwood, deaf, interviews with the Knoxville News Sentinel (picture at left) while volunteering on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition site in Knoxville, Tennessee in January 2012.  Michael also interviewed with WATE 6 News anchor Gene Patterson in this open captioned clip:  CLICK HERE  (interpretation provided by Visual Communication Interpreting).  The Knoxville build was the final build for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which will air sometime in November 2012.

Worship in the City desires  to create the opportunity to for brothers and sisters in Christ, regardless of denomination, to unite in the Spirit and unify the scattered Body of Christ through two days of praise, worship, and rejoicing in the Lord through a variety of music from local, regional and national bands.  Interpreters can be seen on all stages. No reserved seating for the deaf.  Event is general admission.
